About tigers

Tigers are critically endangered. Although recent surveys reveal that they are the most popular animals in the world, they may soon disappear from the wild. As with many endangered animals, the threat comes from competition with human beings: from the loss of forest, loss of prey in those forests and from poachers. Tiger bones and skins are so highly valued in some cultures that we have lost sight of their value as living independent creatures.
